It's been WAY too long since my last post and quite alot has changed. First of all the big news: Nick is now a freshman English teacher! We're so excited that he's finally chased his dream of teaching and we get to see that become a reality. Second of all, we moved from Nashville to Clarksville. Which has not been fun. Third of all, I and Z are back in school and is a major change for them but so far the schools have been more than great and extremely helpful with their transition.

So..since we moved at this moment we do not have a washer and dryer. So guess where I have to go?

Yeah...I mean, it's not THAT bad but yeah...I have to put my clothes in a washer where other people's clothes have been and that's kinda icky. Actually, that's really icky. Who knows what condition or what was on their clothes? EW. Then you feel embarrassed when you fold your 'unmentionables'. It's an odd place to be sometimes, but sometimes you just have to do it.

Home-schooling and my snoring dog ramblings

I home-school (or is it homeschool?) both my son and daughter. He's in 6th grade and she's in Kindergarten. Since the second semester started in January, I feel like I am the worst teacher in the world. I've completely slacked off and the guilt from that is weighing heavily on me.

Both of my children are very bright and love to learn. But for me it has been hard juggling being 'mom' and 'teacher'. Believe me, I DO love teaching. In fact, I feel it was my calling to teach, especially to my son whom has special needs. He has truly thrived since we have taken him out of public school. I guess now and then we all get in a 'slump' and I'm trying my best to crawl my way out.

I have another child, our dog Sadie. We adopted her from our local shelter a couple of years ago. She's a Jack Russell Terrier mix and is the most lovable and affectionate dog. However, she likes to sleep in bed with my husband and I...in the middle of us. Not only is this annoying, she also snores very loudly. And not only that, she's as hot as a furnace. She also likes to burrow her entire body under our covers. I don't think this is normal.

What I'm making for dinner: http//www.marthastewart.com/recipe/crispy-breaded-pork-cutlets?rsc=mprc_A_10

Welcome to Rockabye Mom ~ The Intro

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by and reading my very first post to my new blog! My name is Stephanie and I'm mom to my son I (12) and daughter Z (6). My husband N is fabulous (most of the time) and we've been married for almost 15 years (we got married young).

I grew up in a military town loving art and the outdoors. In my teenage years I somehow became a feminist (probably because I'm the only girl in the family with four brothers) and I told all of my friends how I didn't plan to ever get married. Nope, I was going to move to England and become a writer in my cozy English cottage.

Well, go forward twenty years and I'm happily married with two children. I'm even home schooling them which I would never have dreamed. But that's for another blog post. I do love to write and although I'm not what others would say 'successful' at it, that doesn't matter, because it's just something that I enjoy doing.

So that's just a tiny bit about me. Much more coming in later posts. Have a great day!
